***Pre-orders are over, the Fusible Link Replacement Kit is live!!**

As most of us know, Toyota discontinued our precious FJ60 fusible links. The remaining global supply has just about dried up. So what do you do if your fusible link blows? You can find a used one or have it rebuilt, but how long do you want to keep stringing your electrical protection along using 1880s technology in a 1980s truck? And finding a used one or having the link rebuilt doesn't help when your link blows in the middle of the backcountry.

Luckily we're in the 21st Century and there are fuses that not only offer the same (and better!) protection for your Land Cruiser, but are available at nearly every auto parts store! Starting from that concept I built the fusible link replacement kit to upgrade your truck's electrical protection system in an elegant way and easy way. First, this kit is completely plug & play. There's no splicing wires, no math, no crimping, no real electrical work. A lot of people are turned off by the thought of working on an electrical system and the kit was designed with those folks in mind. Take the kit out of the box, bolt it in, hook up the battery cable, and plug in a connector - that's it. Everything else is already assembled for you.

Features:

Littelfuse 3-pole IPX7/IPX9K sealed/waterproof fuse panel

Littelfuse MIDI fuses in appropriate sizes that offer identical or better protection to the old link wire

Ancor marine-grade 6awg main power cable

Quality Sumitomo connector

Brand new quality Yazaki wiring (just like Toyota originally used on the FJ60)

Custom stainless steel bracket to attach the fuse panel into threaded holes in the body

Overland Metric plated JIS hardware

No corners were cut when designing this kit, everything is as high of quality as I could find. Let's face it - protecting the wiring of your truck is an important safety concern. Nobody wants to watch their vehicle go up in flames! Yes, you can source cheap MIDI fuses on Amazon, for example, but they do not have datasheets verifying how fast they blow and at what threshold - which indicates a lack of certifiable quality control. The Littelfuse MIDIs have all the data to back up their quality. The same goes for every part of this kit.

As an optional add-on, you can include a larger cable from the fuse panel to the alternator, which lowers the resistance as the alternator charges the battery. This typically nets an increase of roughly 0.5-0.7 volts at idle when tested on several 60 Series trucks. This is especially great for improving voltage at idle - let's say it's a rainy night and you're at a stoplight. The headlights, wipers, and HVAC blower are on and causing a significant voltage drop from all the current they're consuming. The larger charge cable will help alleviate that drop and the consequences, such as dimming headlights when stopped. Your results may vary due to the condition of the rest of your wiring, alternator health, etc, and I can't guarantee what improvement you will see, if any.

If you are in need of replacement battery terminals I recommend the "Fastronix Top Post Military Spec Battery Terminal and Cover Kit" on Amazon.
